Arnold Schwarzenegger built a lot of muscle mass training in Europe but was too smooth while also lacking a good tan and posing ability. In his first contest in America he lost to the much smaller Frank Zane, who had the cuts and polish that Arnold was missing.

So Arnold went to Vince's gym to train and learn the secrets of advanced bodybuilding.

Arnold strutted into Vince's like he owned the place and boomed "I am Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mr Universe!".

Vince stuck a pin in Arnold's huge ego by saying "You look like a big, fat pig to me!"

For the next 2 years Arnold learned from Vince, and instead of using the heavy weights, low reps and long rests between sets that he did in Europe, he now used more moderate weight, did higher reps with perfect form and rested very little between sets.

He did a lot of super sets such as going back and forth between curls and triceps extensions to keep constantly moving which built his arms ever bigger while also getting ripped.

He lowered his intake of carbohydrates and went from a smooth 250 to a cut up 235.

He also got tan in the California sun and improved his posing.

He then went on to win the Mr. Olympia contest 7 times!
