Q. I am 5'7", I weight 165 pounds and my thighs are 24 inches. What would Vince say my ideal measurements should be to be totally symmetrical for this height and weight?

A. Vince believed in the Greek ideal of bodybuilding where you should have equal measurements of your neck, upper arms and calves, for you he would recommend they be about 16.5 to 17 inches. Your chest should be about 47 inches. Forearms 13 inches. And your waist should be no more than 30 inches, the smaller you make you waist the bigger your chest, back and shoulders will look.

But a mirror is a more important tool than a tape measure, if you are big and smooth it will not look as good as smaller and ripped. If you lost 15 pounds of fat and people saw you with no shirt on they will think you gained 15 pounds of muscle. .

Remember bodybuilding is all about how you look!
